Pear, white peach, wild fennel, salty soil tones and a nice herbal touch of lemongrass. On the palate the wine is pure, focused and very full-bodied for Verdejo, with a rock solid core, good minerality, bright acids and a crazy long finish.
The Cantalapiedras descend from several generations of winegrowers working in the municipality of La Seca. In 1949, patriarch Heliodoro planted his first vineyard plot, or majuelo, at the tender age of 15. For many years, Heliodoro’s son Isaac worked alongside him, and together they built a 20 hectare domaine that is now certified organic. Today Isaac and his son Manuel produce a serious Verdejo that is gaining lots of traction.
