Chardonnay

As one of the most popular grapes for growing and consuming, Chardonnay can be made in a wide range of styles. These styles can vary from a sparkling Blanc de Blanc, or fresh fermented in stainless steel, to rich and creamy white wine aged in oak barrels. Notable regions for this grape include Chablis or Burgundy in France, Central Coast, Napa, and Sonoma in CA, and Western Australia.

When pairing with food, consider the characteristics of your wine first. No brainer pairing options include seafood, salads, and white meat. Chardonnay, with its vast versatility, is everyone’s best friend.

Pinot Noir

This elusive and delicate light-bodied grape is a winegrowers dream, but can be difficult to achieve. Stubborn, yet flirtatious, Pinot Noir is tantalizing creating a beautiful dance between the grape and the winemaker. The resulting light red wine can be nothing short of spectacular. Loved for its red fruit and spicy characteristics, its also a great food partner.

Look for notable regions including Burgundy, France, Central Coast or Sonoma in CA, Willamette Valley in Oregon, and Pfalz or Baden in Germany as well as many other regions around the world in New Zealand, Australia, Chile, and Argentina.

Champagne Delavenne is a family-owned estate that has been passed down from generation to generation. Their family expertise follows the Champenois tradition while combining it with techniques characteristic of their estate, to offer beautifully complex champagnes.

As opposed to the general practice in Champagne, they do not perform malolactic fermentation. This technique requires great skill and attention. They let their wines evolve in vats as naturally as possible. This natural process of vinification is a long and subtle one. It requires irreproachable hygiene, daily checks and lots of patience. Their champagnes age in natural cellars, carved out of the local chalk, for a minimum of three years – longer for the vintage cuvées. This careful effort is clearly expressed in their high-quality champagnes which age better and express the typicity of their terroir.

This is their first time exporting to the state of California and Amliére is so proud to be representing them!
