Join us on February 12 for a Napa Valley-themed wine and food tasting as you learn about their flavors and taste from Caltech researchers and oenophiles. We know Valentine’s Day might look a little different this year. That’s why the Caltech Associates have created a unique experience that brings together superb wine, great friends, and an exploration into the science of smells, taste, and flavors!
New York Times best-selling author and James Beard Awardee Harold McGee (BS ’73); Nobel Laureate and Caltech President Emeritus David Baltimore; professor of biology and director of the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience David Anderson; senior faculty associate Alice Huang; and senior director and food science instructor Tom Mannion will be your guides through this sensory exploration.
The event is inspired by a 2017 Caltech Associates trip to Napa Valley and Harold’s latest book, Nose Dive: A Field Guide to the World’s Smells.
This wine tasting package includes three wines:
2018 LOLA Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (750 ML)
2018 Luuma Oak Knoll Cabernet Sauvignon (750 ML)
2019 Cherche Midi Rosé (750 ML)
