The Lapi family’s Tuscan-based roots date back to 1977, when Ermete Lapi, a winemaker hailing from multiple generations of grape growers in Trentino, purchased 70 hectares of land within the region. Ermete’s son, Aldo, carried on the work of his father alongside his wife Fiorenza, and additionally added 2,000 olive trees to the property, which is located just six kilometers from the city center of Siena.

Today, the Lapi estate is spearheaded by Albert Lapi, who believes that the harmonious complexity of the family’s wines is ultimately their greatest strength. The family’s unique Trentino-meets-Tuscany legacy imparts a unique Alpine touch onto the wines, which are produced using ancient knowledge combined with innovative technology. As the family states, each element of San Giorgio a Lapi—both wines and people—is characterized by its personality and aspiration, while remaining connected to others through genuine authenticity.
