This wine was hand-made by Chase Carhartt, a California native, and Nathalia & Hannes Storm, of Storm Wines, located in the Western Cape of South Africa. This Pinot Noir hails from the cool, maritime climate of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, supported by low-vigor, stony, clay-rich Bokkeveld shale soils.
This pale ruby colored Pinot Noir opens up with a nose of rose petal and tart cherry, with slight herbal undertones and mouth-watering acidity. The palate shows flavors of red tea, fresh plum, orange peel, and a hint of clove. This Pinot’s light tannin structure lines up next to integrated, yet present acidity, making for a beautiful, lingering finish.
