The Flaneur originated in Paris in the 1840s to describe a curious stroller, a connoisseur of life, walking at a pace slow enough to be lead by a turtle. The team at Flaneur truly consider themselves to be flâneurs, passionate artisans joined together by the desire to slow down, observe the world, and create delicious wines. They live by the idea that some of the best things in life are uncovered without intention, and that life—like a good wine—should be enjoyed and appreciated. Flaneur farms organically and sustainably to grow grapes that are delicious and that celebrate the environment. Their vineyards are dry-farmed, meaning there’s no irrigation, they hand pick their grapes and use native yeast fermentation. Head winemaker Grant Coulter, was the head winemaker at Beaux Freres for 8 years and doesn’t believe in recipes or repetition. Just like each harvest shows different characteristics, every vintage tells its own story.
