End of Summer Baby Shower

While Arden was busy hiking and tasting her way across Spain, I was doing a project that was a lost closer to home. Literally.

My sister is expecting a baby boy, and I had the pleasure of planning her baby shower with my sister-in-laws, hosted in my parent’s backyard. I knew she would want something understated so we stuck with a classic nautical theme, to incorporate a bit of blue to celebrate the gender of my future nephew.

We were having an unexpectedly humid afternoon in Pasadena, so the rosé was a favorite, and it went fast. We also featured rosemary lemonade my sister-in-law Bree made for the non-drinkers…as a lot of the party guests were also pregnant. It was a crowd pleaser!

For lunch, I served watermelon with feta and balsamic drizzle with pistachios, tortellini salad with pesto, and a classic Chinese chicken.

It was really special to create an event for my sister, and an intimate group of 25 guests. I can’t wait for the little boy to make his appearance!
