Cheers to 26!

A special connection existed between us before we even met each other…we are birthday twins! Sharing the exact same amount of time on this planet has allowed a bond that deepens with every moment we spend in business, life, and fun.

This year, we thought we would answer some questions on the eve of our 26th birthday to see how much we have really learned about each other on this journey of life!

ARDEN BY MARGAUX

Do you remember your first time cooking with Arden?

I think it was actually over our birthday weekend… freshman year of college when we went to her parents house for the weekend. We were so excited to have a kitchen for the weekend! Dorm life was rough.

If Arden were a wine, which wine would she be?

Definitely White Burgundy. She’s not a Chablis though, more of an understated but balanced Meursault.

How does she take her coffee?

She used to take it black. Now she takes it with a bit of almond milk.

Working, living, and playing next to each other must get hectic sometimes. How does Arden decompress?

Pilates and recently Spin!

What is her best character trait?

Her Confidence.

How do you imagine she celebrated her 10th birthday?

I know she went through a basketball phase. I imagine she had all of her friends over and forced them to play horse in the driveway while listening to “This is How We Do It” By Montell Jordan on repeat.

What do you remember from the first time you celebrated your birthdays together?

Yup! Freshman year of college a group of us all went to Arden’s parents house in Scottsdale for the weekend. It was the start of the infamous  “Montgomery Weekenders” Which we still do once a year with all of our friends.

Do you remember your first time cooking with Margaux?

I want to say we made nachos? I need Margaux’s help on this one. I do remember the first time we talked about cooking. We had just met at University of Arizona and she mentioned cooking with her mom. My ears lit up!

If Margaux were a wine, which wine would she be?

For this one I want to go with a grape, not wine – she’d definitely be a Sauvignon Blanc. The grape has a wide range of styles as it is grown throughout a variety of different wine regions. Namely California, New Zealand and France. Margaux’s never been to New Zealand but it’s on her bucket list. Sancerre is one of her favorite wines not only for the flavor profile but the food pairings as well. Not to mention, when I think of Sauvignon Blanc I can’t help but think of summer. Sandwiches on the beach or goat cheese crostini’s…you name it. Margaux, just like Sauvignon Blanc, is at her best during the summer months!

How does she take her coffee?

She’s a cold brew girl. Depends on the day but she’ll take a touch of cream now and then.

Cooking!

What is her best character trait?

She is the most loyal person I know.

How do you imagine she celebrated her 10th birthday?

With a ton of friends probably outside by a pool with a taco truck. It’s important to note I was definitely not outside by a pool with a taco truck being in Wisconsin…in February. I also had like 3 friends.

What do you remember from the first time you celebrated your birthdays together?

I think the first time we celebrated our birthdays together was our 19th birthday up at my parents house in Northern Scottsdale. A group from school came up to celebrate and we went to a country bar in Cave Creek called Harold’s. I remember texting her a month before, “I think we have the same birthday” and then quoting a line from Parent Trap or something. I was just trying to make friends. Coming from Wisconsin I only knew one or two people at school. I do remember that weekend, celebrating our birthday, I had to explain where Wisconsin was on a map to Margaux and she tried to explain the LA landscape. We’ve come a long way!!
