Memorial Day is just the start to a BBQ packed summer. We love a nice cold beer on the beach as much as anyone, but when it comes to boozing for a cookout, whether in your backyard or on the beach, wine will surely diversify any average grill rotation.

This wine was created by Chicago sommelier Ryan Arnold (of Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants), in conjunction with fourth-generation Sonoma winemakers Andrew and Adam Mariani, plus the managers of Chance the Rapper and Skrillex. So yea…it’s pretty cool.
The bottle retails for $20 but tastes much more complex than its price tag, and is pretty crushable for a long drinking day like Memorial Day. It would be great for steak; but we could also see drinking it with tacos and sauced chicken.
Another crowd pleaser that works well alongside anything your grill master is churning out: 2017 Love You Bunches Sangiovese.
This is the red wine that I bought specifically for summer. I find myself mostly drinking whites and rosé in the summer because it is so darn hot and I want something refreshing. The bottle has instructions on the back that say “serve chilled.” It is an easy drinking, porch knocking red for a hot summer night.
If Arden had her way…the cooler would be packed tight with Chablis and Sancerre. If you haven’t tried a burger on the beach with a Chablis…this summer is the time to do it! Not to mention any crisp white with grilled lobster!
One thing to always remember – bring a bag of ice to your cookout along with these wines, and you are sure to be the star of the party. So dish out the kebabs, grab the football, and head into your summer with these wines in hand!
